Cleansol Fabric Whitener Liquid
About this item
Cleansol Fabric Whitener Liquid is a chlorine-type liquid laundry bleach for white clothes. It lifts stubborn stains, yellowing, greying and dullness from white cotton, linen and terrycot, and brings back a bright, crisp white. It works in normal tap water with no hot water needed, and is stabilised for storage so it holds its strength. Use it as a bucket soak at home, in the washing machine, or in the bleach step of a hotel, hospital or commercial laundry. Packs: 1 L bottle (with a 50 ml measuring cup), 5 L can and 25 kg can. Made by Cleansol in Jodhpur since 2002.

Good to know
- White fabrics only: for white cotton, linen and terrycot. Do not use on coloured or printed clothes, silk, wool, nylon, lycra/spandex, leather or delicates β it will fade or damage them.
- Test first: if unsure, try it on a hidden seam.
- Always dilute: never pour it neat on fabric β it can leave pale spots or weaken the cloth.
- Rinse well: bleach left in the fabric can cause yellowing after ironing. Laundries should finish with Fabric Sour in the last rinse.
- Not a neel or blue: it removes stains and yellowing. For an extra blue-white tint, use Liquid Blue in the last rinse.

- Use in a ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Not to be swallowed β if swallowed, rinse the mouth, drink water and get medical help.
- Store tightly closed, upright, in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and heat. Best used within 12 months of manufacture for full strength.
Frequently asked questions
What is a fabric whitener liquid?
A liquid laundry bleach for white clothes. It removes stains, yellowing and dullness from white cotton, linen and terrycot and makes them look bright white again.
Is it the same as neel or liquid blue?
No. Neel only adds a blue tint to make whites look whiter. Fabric Whitener actually removes the stains and yellowing. Many people use the whitener first, then a little Liquid Blue in the last rinse.
Can I use it on coloured clothes?
No β it will fade or patch colours. For coloured or mixed loads, use Oxygen Bleach for Clothes instead.
How much should I use in a bucket?
3 measuring cups (about 150 ml) in 8β10 L of water. Soak white clothes for 20β30 minutes, rinse well, then wash.
Can I use it in a washing machine?
Yes. Add about 60 ml to the bleach compartment, or dilute it in 1 L of water and add it after the drum has filled. Never pour it straight onto clothes.
Why did my whites turn yellow after bleaching?
Usually because too much bleach was used or it was not rinsed out fully. Use the lower dose and rinse well. Laundries should add Fabric Sour in the final rinse.
Can I mix it with detergent or other cleaners?
Do not mix it with acids, toilet or tile cleaners, vinegar or ammonia. For best results, bleach in a separate soak or bleach step and wash with detergent afterwards.
