Cleansol Fabric Sour Neutralizer Powder
About this item
Cleansol Fabric Sour & Detergent Neutralizer is a last-rinse powder that neutralises the alkali, detergent and bleach residues left in fabric after washing. Without it, these residues build up wash after wash – and when the cloth is dried and ironed, it turns yellow, pale, stiff or smelly. Just 2–3 g per kg of dry linen in the final rinse keeps sheets, towels and uniforms softer, fresher and longer-lasting – for hotels, hospitals, commercial laundries and homes. Packs: 1 kg jar, 5 kg bharni and 25 kg bag. Made by Cleansol in Jodhpur since 2002.

2–3 g per kg of dry linen · final rinse only
Neutralises alkali & bleach residue · Prevents yellowing after ironing · Softer feel · Dissolves easily
Why linen turns yellow – and how a sour stops it
Detergents, boosters and bleaches work in an alkaline wash. Rinsing alone does not remove all of it – a little alkali and bleach stays in the fibre every time. When the cloth is dried and pressed with a hot iron, this residue shows up as a yellow or pale tint, a harsh, stiff feel and sometimes skin irritation. Over months it also weakens the fibres.
A fabric sour is mildly acidic. Added to the last rinse, it neutralises the leftover alkali and bleach, bringing the fabric back close to neutral – so linen stays white, soft and strong for more washes.
How much to use
| Load (dry linen) | Fabric Sour – final rinse |
| Per 1 kg | 2–3 g |
| Home machine, 7 kg | 14–21 g (about 1–1½ tablespoons) |
| Commercial machine, 25 kg | 50–75 g |
| Commercial machine, 50 kg | 100–150 g |
Use the higher dose after heavily soiled loads washed with booster or bleach. Add it only to the final rinse – never to the main wash.

How to use
- Wash and bleach as usual, then drain.
- Dissolve the sour in a little water.
- Add it to the final rinse – commercial machines: through the last-rinse dosing point; front-load home machines: the softener compartment; top-load and semi-automatic: into the last rinse water.
- Run the rinse for 3–5 minutes, then spin and dry as usual. No extra rinse is needed.
The complete commercial wash
| Stage | Cleansol product |
| Main wash – detergent | Ultra Detergent Powder |
| Main wash – oil & grease | Laundry Booster Powder |
| Main wash – whitening | Oxygen Bleach for Clothes |
| Last rinse – neutralise | This Fabric Sour |
| Last rinse – extra white (optional) | Liquid Blue for White Clothes |
| Machine care – monthly | Washing Machine Descaler |
How far one pack goes
| Pack | Treats about | Best for |
| 1 kg jar | 330–500 kg of linen | Homes, salons, small guest houses – try it first |
| 5 kg bharni | 1,650–2,500 kg of linen | Restaurants, PGs, hostels, small laundries |
| 25 kg bag | 8,300–12,500 kg of linen | Hotels, hospitals, commercial laundries |
With the 25 kg bag, the sour costs only about 11–17 paise per kg of linen – a small price to keep linen from turning yellow.
Good to know
- Final rinse only: a sour in the main wash would cancel out your detergent.
- Fabrics: for cotton, poly-cotton and synthetic linen, towels and uniforms. Follow the garment care label for wool, silk and delicates.
- Not a softener: the fabric feels softer because the harsh alkali is gone. Add a fabric softener separately if you want extra softness and fragrance.
- Easily soluble: dissolves quickly in water – no residue.
Why choose Cleansol
- Stops yellowing at the source: removes the alkali and bleach residue that turns linen yellow after ironing.
- Low dose: 2–3 g per kg – one of the cheapest steps in the wash, with one of the biggest effects on linen life.
- Completes the system: works with Cleansol Ultra, Booster and Oxygen Bleach.
- Home to commercial: 1 kg jar to 25 kg bag.
- Direct from the maker: GST invoice, dispatched from Jodhpur within 24 working hours.
Safety & storage
- Mildly acidic powder: avoid contact with eyes and skin; wear gloves when handling. If it gets in the eyes, rinse with plenty of water.
- Do not mix the powder directly with chlorine bleach or bleaching powder. Add it only to the final rinse, after the bleach water has been drained.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets. Not to be eaten.
- Store closed in a cool, dry place.
Frequently asked questions
What is a fabric sour?
A mildly acidic last-rinse product that neutralises the alkali, detergent and bleach left in fabric after washing, so linen does not turn yellow, stiff or smelly.
How much sour per kg of clothes?
2–3 g per kg of dry linen – about 50–75 g for a 25 kg machine and 100–150 g for a 50 kg machine.
Why does white linen turn yellow after ironing?
Alkali and bleach residue left in the fabric reacts with the heat of the iron and shows up as a yellow or pale tint. A sour in the last rinse removes that residue.
When do I add it – main wash or rinse?
Only in the final rinse. In the main wash it would neutralise your detergent and reduce cleaning.
Can I use it at home?
Yes. Add about 14–21 g to the softener compartment of a front-load machine, or into the last rinse water of a top-load or semi-automatic machine.
Is it the same as a fabric softener?
No. A sour neutralises residue; a softener coats the fibres for softness and fragrance. Many laundries use both in the final rinse.
Do you supply laundries in bulk?
Yes – 25 kg bags. WhatsApp 98290 05860 with your monthly need for a factory price.
