Cleansol Washing Machine Descaler Powder removes the hard-water scale, limescale, calcium deposits and detergent build-up that collect inside your washing machine – on the drum, the heating element and the hidden water pipes. One empty hot cycle every few weeks keeps the machine heating fast, rinsing clean and free from the musty smell that starts in scale and soap residue. Why your washing machine needs descaling
Every wash in hard water leaves a thin layer of calcium and magnesium behind. Mixed with leftover detergent and fabric softener, it builds into scale on the drum, the heating element and the inside of the pipes – places you never see. Signs it's time:
- Musty or sour smell from the drum or from freshly washed clothes
- White clothes turning grey or dull, white powdery marks after washing
- Hot washes taking longer – scale coats the heater like a blanket
- White scale on the drum, the detergent drawer or the door rubber
How to use – dose for every machine
Always run it with an empty drum – no clothes.

| Semi-automatic | 50–75 g | Fill the wash tub with warm water, add the powder. Soak 20 min, run wash for 10 min, drain and rinse. |

After descaling, run one empty rinse cycle and leave the door or lid open to dry the drum.

Safety & storage
- Never descale with clothes in the machine.
- Wear gloves; avoid breathing in the powder and contact with eyes and skin.
- Do not mix with bleach, chlorine or other cleaners.
- If it gets in the eyes, rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes and get medical help.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add clothes while descaling?
No. Always run the descaling cycle with an empty drum, then one empty rinse cycle before your next wash.
Is it safe for a stainless steel drum?
Yes, when used at the given dose with an empty drum and followed by a rinse cycle. Do not leave the solution standing in the machine overnight.
Why does it fizz?
The fizz is the scale dissolving. More fizz means more scale – in very hard water, repeat once after a week.
Will it remove the bad smell?
The musty smell usually comes from scale and detergent residue stuck inside the drum. Descaling removes that build-up; also wipe the door rubber, clean the filter and leave the door open after washes.
My machine has a "Tub Clean" button – do I still need this?
Yes. Tub Clean only runs hot water; it needs a descaler inside to actually dissolve the scale.
What's the difference from Cleansol Descaling Powder?
Both are sulfamic-acid based. This one comes with the dose chart and pack sizes for washing machines and laundries; Descaling Powder comes with the chart for kettles, geysers, coffee machines and irons.
