Where not to use
- Marble, granite, Kota stone, limestone, mosaic or terrazzo – acid dulls and etches stone.
- Wooden furniture and floors, cast iron and aluminium vessels.
- TV, laptop and mobile screens, and inside steam irons.
- Keep contact with cement grout short and rinse well. Test on a small hidden area first.
White vinegar is a cleaner, not a disinfectant. Where germs must be killed, use IPA or Sodium Hypochlorite – separately, never together.
Safety & storage
- Never mix with bleach, sodium hypochlorite or chlorine products – harmful gas forms.
- Do not mix with hydrogen peroxide in the same container.
- Avoid contact with eyes; if splashed, rinse with plenty of water. Use gloves for long cleaning sessions.
- Store tightly closed in a cool place away from sunlight, out of reach of children. For cleaning use only – do not drink.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as kitchen (food) vinegar?
No. This is cleaning vinegar, packed and sold for cleaning use only. Do not use it in food or drink.
How do I make a vinegar cleaning spray?
Mix 1 part vinegar with 1 part water in a spray bottle. Spray on glass, tiles, sinks or the fridge, wait a few minutes, then wipe.
Does vinegar remove hard-water stains?
Yes – white limescale and hard-water spots dissolve in vinegar. For thick crust on taps, leave neat vinegar on for 1–2 hours, then scrub and rinse.
Can I use it on marble or granite?
No. Vinegar is an acid and will dull and etch natural stone. Use a stone-safe cleaner instead.
Does vinegar kill germs?
Vinegar is a cleaner, not a registered disinfectant. Clean with vinegar, then use a disinfectant where germs must be killed.
