  • Counters hard water and metals: Prevents scale and soap scum, boosts detergency and stops metal-catalysed discolouration and rancidity.
  • Main applications: Used in detergents, liquid soaps, textile processing, water softening, boiler cleaning and industrial cleaners.
  • Typical use level: Use 0.1–2% in detergents and cleaners; in water treatment as per hardness to be sequestered.

Hygroscopic – protect from moisture to avoid caking.
Keep away from strong acids, oxidisers and aluminium/copper in solution.
Safety & first aid
Hazard: Harmful if swallowed or inhaled; causes serious eye damage; may damage respiratory tract by prolonged inhalation of dust.
PPE: Chemical goggles, gloves, dust mask (P2).
First aid: Eyes – rinse immediately with water for 15 min and seek medical help; Skin – wash with water; Inhalation – move to fresh air; Ingestion – rinse mouth, drink water, seek medical advice.
Spills: Sweep up dry avoiding dust and collect in closed container; flush residue with water; avoid release to drains.
