About this item
- Secondary alkanolamine: Diethanolamine is a weakly alkaline amino alcohol that neutralises fatty acids and acidic components in formulations.
- Neutraliser and intermediate: Acts as pH adjuster and is the raw material for coconut diethanolamide (CDEA) and DEA-based soaps and emulsifiers.
- Industrial applications: Used in industrial cleaners, metalworking fluids, textile auxiliaries, cement grinding aids and acid-gas scrubbing.
- How it is used: Add as required to reach target pH, or in stoichiometric ratio with fatty acids/esters for amide manufacture.
- Industrial grade liquid: Colourless to pale yellow viscous liquid, may solidify in cold weather; 500 g to 20 kg. GST invoice.

Storage & handling
Hygroscopic; absorbs CO2 from air – keep sealed.
May solidify below 28 °C; warm gently to liquefy.
Keep away from acids, oxidisers and nitrites.
Safety & first aid
PPE: Chemical goggles or face shield, nitrile gloves, apron; ventilation when warming.
First aid: Eyes – rinse immediately with water for 15 min and seek medical help; Skin – wash with plenty of water; Inhalation – move to fresh air; Ingestion – rinse mouth, do not induce vomiting, seek medical help.
Spills: Contain and absorb with sand or inert absorbent; collect in closed container; flush residue with water, do not discharge to drains.
Do not mix with: Strong acids, oxidisers, nitrites/nitrosating agents (form nitrosamines), copper and its alloys.
