About this item
- 37% formaldehyde solution: Formalin – aqueous methanal solution, a reactive aldehyde used as preservative, biocide and chemical intermediate.
- Preserves and cross-links: Kills bacteria and fungi in industrial systems and reacts with urea, phenol and melamine to form resins.
- Industrial applications: Used in UF/PF/MF resins and adhesives, textile and paper finishing, industrial preservation and controlled disinfection.
- Typical use level: 0.05–0.2% as an industrial preservative; use only diluted, by trained personnel with good ventilation.
- Industrial grade liquid: Clear colourless liquid, packed 5 L to 55 kg. GST invoice.

Storage & handling
Keep in a well-ventilated, locked area away from heat and sunlight.
Keep away from food, acids, alkalis and oxidisers.
Safety & first aid
PPE: Chemical goggles and face shield, nitrile or butyl gloves, apron, respirator with formaldehyde cartridge; use only with good ventilation.
First aid: Eyes – rinse with water for at least 15 min and get medical help immediately; Skin – remove contaminated clothing, wash with plenty of water; Inhalation – move to fresh air, seek medical help; Ingestion – rinse mouth, do not induce vomiting, seek medical help immediately.
Spills: Evacuate and ventilate; absorb with inert material, collect in closed containers; prevent entry into drains.
Do not mix with: Hydrochloric acid (forms carcinogenic bis(chloromethyl) ether), strong oxidisers, strong alkalis, ammonia, phenols, chlorine bleach.
