About this item
- Cross-linked polyacrylic acid: Carbomer 940 is a high-molecular-weight acrylic acid polymer that swells in water to give very high viscosity.
- Crystal-clear, stable gels: Forms sparkling clear gels on neutralisation and suspends particles, oils and beads in emulsions and gels.
- Main applications: Hand sanitiser gels, cosmetic gels and serums, creams and lotions, hair gels and home-care gel cleaners.
- Typical use level: 0.2–1.0% in gels, 0.1–0.5% in creams; disperse slowly, then neutralise with TEA or NaOH to pH 6–7.
- Cosmetic grade powder: White fluffy powder in 100 g to 20 kg packs. GST invoice.

Storage & handling
Hygroscopic – reseal promptly to prevent lumping.
Avoid dust generation; keep away from heat and ignition sources.
Safety & first aid
PPE: Dust mask, safety glasses and gloves when handling powder.
First aid: Eyes – rinse with water for 15 min; Skin – wash with soap and water; Inhalation – move to fresh air; Ingestion – rinse mouth, drink water, seek medical advice if unwell
Spills: Sweep up dry avoiding dust; wet powder becomes very slippery – clean with plenty of water.
Do not mix with: Strong oxidisers; high salt/electrolyte levels and cationic actives reduce gel viscosity.
