- Weak inorganic acid: Boric acid (orthoboric acid, H3BO3), white crystalline powder that gives mildly acidic, buffering solutions.
- Buffer, flux and preservative: Provides pH buffering, mild preservative action and fluxing properties in cleaning, glass and metal processes.
- Industrial applications: Used in glass and ceramic glazes, welding and brazing flux, metalworking fluids, flame retardants and buffer formulations.
- Typical use level: Generally 1–5% in cleaning, buffer and coolant formulations; dissolves faster in warm water.
- Industrial grade, powder: Industrial grade, 99.5% min, white powder or granules in 500 g to 5 kg packs; GST invoice.
